Dayglo Daffodil Party Ball - glass+metal - discordant yellows strike a lovely tone
$80.00
bead size (approximately):
25x26mm
5/32" hole
brass core/sterling silver caps
Since the caps are stamped with lemons, it might stand to reason that we should call this something lemon themed instead, but the much darker yellow and the much neon'er yellow reminded me more of a daffodil at first glance. The strands of shiny silver tinsel and silver glitter plus transparent lemon green/gold shift glitters add a bit more interest. As mentioned, the sterling silver caps are stamped with little lemon wedges, and the brass core (which isn't so obviously brass) holds it all in place and is a bit easier on the pocketbook than fine or sterling silver tube. Sling it onto a chain and go, use it for a rearview mirror or handbag charm or put it on your desk to look at when you need to escape for 30 seconds.
FOR HOLLOW/STUFFED BEADS: Do not submerge in liquid, pretty please. Fogging and discoloration can occur. The seals are relatively tight, but not waterproof. A silver polishing cloth should work for the metals I use (sterling, copper and brass).
About the beads:
These lampwork beads are made by Sarah Moran with soda-lime glass (also known as soft glass), and are kiln annealed for strength and long life. I do my best to provide an accurate representation in the photos. If you are interested in buying but have questions, please contact me.
