Do you remember a year or two ago when I said something dumb like "I don't care what anyone says, AI is kinda cool"? Fast forward to the last few weeks when I began to notice that nearly every (unsolicited) recipe on my fakebook feed features, for one example, an image of a too-perfect looking piece of cherry pie with a frustratingly incomplete recipe for some sort of broccoli casserole under it. I later scrolled by a caption about a lady that made one of these infuriating recipes where actual glue was one of the ingredients. I probably should have, but I didn't read the article or watch the video because the entire rigamaroo seems like a waste of valuable time and resources for everyone involved, a domino effect of uselessness if you will, and I don't want to encourage it by even witnessing it. Other times, no matter how fake and pointless I know it is, I can still be inspired. Case in point: there is a user on Pinterest that posts a lot of obviously AI generated images of handbags. It is never mentioned that these are just images of things that don't exist - it doesn't really need to be because there is no branding or a link to a place to purchase, the construction is nearly impossible, and there may not be a latch or even a way to gain entry into the handbag. One looked like a bag made of quilted plexiglass, and these beads were inspired by the colors more so than the bag design, and the bead design was inspired by a mid century tiki-adjacent print that might have been on a shower curtain, also seen on pinterest. It's all such a jumble, who knows anymore. But I do know it all came together to produce some beads that are pretty special. White encased with transparent light and dark teal, saturated red and orange, olive, amber and pale yellow are the bases for opaque dark olive green, teal, coral and marigold stringer decor. Each one is just a weebit different, and everything is on both sides of each dramatic ellipse bead!
About the beads:
These lampwork beads are made by Sarah Moran with soda-lime glass (also known as soft glass), and are kiln annealed for strength and long life. I do my best to provide an accurate representation in the photos. If you are interested in buying but have questions, please contact me.
