Victorian Ribbon Floopy Flowers - 5 flowery disks make a comeback

$95.00 / Sold Out

a bit over 1.5 inches of beads
bead size (approximately):
8x31mm
1/8" hole

I've missed making my Floopy Flowers. They're not even all that floopy since they're made of glass and are quite stiff and stable. My favorite thing to do with these is string them up with very large beads, I once made a necklace with this type of bead and some 25mm purple moonglow beads and it was quite large and impressive. Perhaps you may be able to locate something similar to match these colors better, as these are slightly sedate as their title might indicate. Cooler and warmer darker and mid tone greens, blue-violet and aubergine purples, mid-tone ambers and a pale rosy pink make up the transparent parts of this colorway, and a very small amount of opaque sage green, maize and royal purple as dots at the intersections of the petals. OH! And these might make fun earrings, you have a large surface area as a flat disk, so you can make an impression without weighing down your ear lobes. I may try that after I finish the bazillion other bead projects I'm in the middle of.

About the beads:
These lampwork beads are made by Sarah Moran with soda-lime glass (also known as soft glass), and are kiln annealed for strength and long life. I do my best to provide an accurate representation in the photos. If you are interested in buying but have questions, please contact me.
